Carpenter's Club

You are invited to join our Build-It DeKalb Carpenter’s Club.  This is a group of donors that make pledged, monthly donations to DeKalb Habitat.  The Carpenter’s Club provides an easy way for our supporters to make small contributions that make a big difference.  It also allows us to keep all the members of the Habitat “family” connected to our mission and to each other.

A predictable regular donation of just $20 per month will go a long way towards helping DeKalb Habitat change lives, one family at a time.  Please click  on the “Donate Now” button and follow instructions to set up the monthly amount you would like to contribute automatically through your credit card.

Donate Your Car

Do you have an older car, truck, van,trailer, RV or boat taking up valuable space in your yard?  Your car donation will support Habitat for Humanity’s local and global mission of eliminating poverty housing and homelessness and save you the time and energy of finding a buyer. By donating a car to our vehicle donation program, you can help Habitat for Humanity--DeKalb build houses in partnership with families in need of a hand up, not a hand out. 

It is quick and easy to donate cars, trucks, boats, RVs, motorcycles, construction equipment and other vehicles ~ running or not!  Plus, you may be eligible for a tax deduction.  (Consult your tax advisor or the IRS for details.)

Gifts of Land or Existing Homes

DeKalb Habitat welcomes a gift of land with or without a house.  Recently we have been given several properties, two with burned out houses on them, one in Stone Mountain without a house, and one on Columbia Drive, near Decatur, with a house that we will rehab for a low income family.  The donors receive a tax deduction for these gifts. 

Gifts of Stocks or Bonds

A charitable gift of stocks or bonds provides an opportunity for tax savings while generously sharing with others. A gift of stock owned for more than one year entitles you to a charitable deduction for the full market value at the time the gift is made. If the stock has appreciated, you also avoid a capital gains tax on the appreciation. In addition to helping Habitat, you may diversify away from low-basis, long-term holdings into other assets that will better suit your current needs. If you would like to discuss a gift of stocks or bonds, please contact us and express your interest in discussing this type of gift. The appropriate contact from our Fund-Raising Committee will call you back to answer all your questions.
