
Eric Larson, Board President Atlanta
Eric Larson has been a board member for DeKalb Habitat since 2009 serving most recently as a Secretary for the organization. Eric is also a member of the Construction and Finance committees. Eric is a Commercial Lender for Cornerstone Bank. Eric holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida and is a graduate of the 2009 Class of Leadership DeKalb. Eric resides in north DeKalb with his wife, Heather, and son, Ryder and they attend Buckhead Church. Hobbies include traveling, music, and running. Eric was drawn to DeKalb Habitat by the opportunity to help families while working hands-on in construction.
Jason Wallace, Secretary Decatur
Jason Wallace joined the leadership of DeKalb Habitat in 2010, bringing with him years of experience as a Habitat volunteer with affiliates in Atlanta and Charlotte. He also serves the affiliate as Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee and oversees the internship program. Jason is Senior Vice President at Bank of America managing the Southeast Treasury Product Delivery team for Commercial Real Estate Banking with Bank of America. His team of real estate professionals provide construction, acquisition, and development financing, as well as comprehensive treasury solutions for a broad array of clients including public and private Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITS), funds, and commercial and residential development companies. In his free time, Jason enjoys mountain biking, running, and spending time with his daughter, Jennifer. Jason is a graduate of Texas State University with his undergraduate in Business Finance, with master’s degrees in business finance and information systems from Rushmore University in South Dakota.
Michelle Hamilton, Treasurer Tucker
Michelle Hamilton joined the board in 2009 and serves as the head of the Finance Committee. Michelle is currently the Controller at The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, GA. Michelle spent six years in public accounting, which included three years at KPMG, LLP in Atlanta, where she gained experience leading audit engagements for organizations and companies of all sizes and industries including SEC registrants as well as small not for profit entities. Michelle holds a B.B.A. in Business from the University of Georgia where she graduated magna cum laude. She also graduated with a Masters of Accountancy degree from the University of Georgia and she is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). In her free time, Michelle enjoys playing tennis and spending time with her husband and her two year old daughter. She also volunteers as a Sunday school teacher at Cross Pointe Church. Michelle is a native of DeKalb County and was drawn to Habitat as a way to give back to the community that she loves.
Kimberly Cameron, Past President Lithonia
Kimberly Cameron is the Senior Weatherization Program Manager at the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority. Kimberly has over fifteen years of real estate development, affordable housing, owner occupied rehabilitation and weatherization assistance program experience through Community Development Corporations, private sector developers and nationally known non-profits. Kim was the first African-American woman to receive a Bachelors of Science in Construction Management at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, obtaining her MBA in finance from Concordia University in Wisconsin. Kim has held positions with notable organizations such as: H.J. Russell & Company; Mercy Housing Southeast in Charlotte, North Carolina; Habitat for Humanity International and the Metropolitan Atlanta Community Development Corporation. She served on the DeKalb 2010 Census Committee as appointed by DeKalb CEO Burrell Ellis. Currently, Kimberly serves as the Board Chair president of the Decatur/DeKalb Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women.
John C. Bennett, Nominating Committee Chair Decatur
John Bennett just completed his term as Vice President of Habitat for Humanity, DeKalb. John is a real estate attorney from Illinois and is currently the owner and President of Origin Title and Escrow a firm he founded in 2002. In 1999, he worked part-time as a research assistant on the Child Improvement Project headed by the Supreme Court of Georgia. He has also worked on the Pro Bono Project of the State Bar of Georgia. During Law School at the University of Illinois, John was involved with the Welfare Rights Clinic, Public Interest Law Foundations, won the Rickert Award for Public Service, worked at the Cook County Public Guardian’s Office, and was voted most likely to do Pro Bono work. John resides in Decatur with his daughter, Sidra, and wife, Holly. Hobbies include figuring out new ways to injure himself on his mountain bike. John found DeKalb Habitat to be a great fit to use his title experience to help the organization provide homeownership opportunities for low income families. John is also a member of the Georgia Bar, the American Bar Association, American Land Title Association, Rotary International, and the Decatur Business Association.

Chris Simser joined the board of Habitat for Humanity DeKalb in 2011, bringing with him years of experience as a volunteer within the local community. Chris is a Vice President at Bank of America and a Project Manager in the Cash and Check Initiatives group. Over his 19 plus years with Bank of America, Chris has worked in various roles in Consumer Bank and Operations support. Chris is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and was recognized in 2003 and 2006 with the Bank of America Award of Excellence for outstanding contributions to business success. Chris has also served for multiple years in leadership positions with the Bank of America Community Volunteers including chairperson for 2009 and 2010. In his free time, Chris enjoys hiking, running, and spending time with his family. Chris is a graduate of Oglethorpe Univerity, where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
